Spearheaded by producer Wayne Young, the heartfelt song features the vocals of Stephanie Poort (vocalist for Hello Bella) and instrumentation from pop/rock act Phao. The song reflects the passion and longing of teenager Kaitlin Boyd. Diagnosed with a terminal cancer in 2010, Kaitlin refused a free trip from the Children's Wish Foundation and instead requested funds to build wells in Uganda through Compassion Canada.

After Kaitlin passed away in 2011, Kaitlin's Legacy developed from her original wish. "We knew it would be her desire to continue to support clean water projects, so we set up Kaitlin's Legacy," says mother Brenda Boyda. "Her story touches the hearts of people because it is so selfless. In a time when it would be okay to put yourself first, Kaitlin chose to think of others and we are humbled and touched by the response of everyone." It was this genuine sacrifice and joy that led Young to get so involved in the project. To reveal the song, he organized a concert in conjunction with Compassion Canada. Kaitlin's high school choir performed to a packed house filled with the lives she touched. "It was really surreal," Young shares. "We had been writing and working on the song for so long and it was very encouraging to see that it is so strongly impacting others."

But it didn't stop there. The story immediately hit social media with posts from key influencers. This support, coupled with the quality of the emotion-evoking track, drove sales to skyrocket - sending the single to #1 on the inspirational charts in just the first day. It still holds the coveted title after five days, bumping down artists like Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman. Young will continue to promote the track to maintain the #1 spot, raising both awareness and funds for Kaitlin's Legacy.
